Alaska State Fair Admission Price
The Alaska State Fair is a yearly state fair held in Palmer, Alaska, United States. The fairgrounds are situated about an hour north of Anchorage and attract visitors from the entire Municipality of Anchorage and beyond for the highly popular 1½-week event, commencing at the end of August. For over 75 years, the Alaska State Fair has been a gathering place for all Alaskans, and a “last hurrah” before summer gives way to the long Alaska winter. It started as a celebration for the Mat-Su colonists in 1936 and has grown into the state’s largest annual event. Each year, hundreds of thousands of fairgoers enjoyed nightly concerts featuring headline entertainers in the AT&T Concert Series, carnival rides and games, hundreds of food and vendor booths featuring uniquely Alaskan items, tens of thousands of exhibits in categories ranging from quilts and goats, world-famous giant vegetables like 2009’s world record-breaking 127-pound cabbage, and lots of activities and entertainment free with Fair admission. 12 fun-filled days.

What is the Alaska State Fair 2025 Theme
This year’s theme is “Harvesting Memories,” commemorating community traditions, farming, and the Alaskan heritage. There will be themed decor, displays, and performances that will fill the fairgrounds. Plenty of vendors. Raven Hall has businesses, water treatment, hot tubs, knives, and some flea market-type booths; there’s usually a vendor with some really neat preserved butterflies. Lots of booths around the barn and the red trail with local artists and craft-type stuff, and the Alaskan clothing line vendors (Alaska Chicks, Mermaid Co, and a few others). I think most of the downtown market folks, plus a bunch from out of town, come for the fair.
